Make us a beneficiary of your IRA or other “non-probate” assets
Why beneficiary designations are so powerful
Assets not included in your will are called non-probate assets. Examples are 401(k)s, IRAs, life insurance policies, and other accounts. Designating the KIPP Atlanta Schools as a beneficiary can have a big impact and may avoid unwanted taxes for your heirs.

Planned Gifts Fuel KIPP Atlanta Scholars’ Future
A gift in your will creates lasting impact by supporting KIPP Atlanta Schools’ mission to prepare scholars for college, career, and beyond. Your planned gift ensures future generations of students can achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives, building a brighter future for our communities. Consider leaving a legacy that empowers young minds to thrive.

We were first introduced to KIPP Atlanta by board member Kathy Brown back in 2018. She formed a group to tour one of KIPP’s primary schools and we were thoroughly impressed! They were only in early primary, but they were well poised, held eye contact and were a delight to speak with.
My visit to the school captured my heart. My first impression of KIPP Atlanta Schools was how warm and inviting the atmosphere was. Observing several classes brought me to tears. The teachers were engaged with the students, interesting and exuded a love for the program and scholars.
My biggest involvement with KIPP Atlanta, aside from monetary contributions, is to share my compassion and love for KIPP with anyone willing to listen! I could be sitting in an airport lounge, riding in a golf cart, or having dinner with friends. If I see any opening to sharing the KIPP story, I am on it!

Frequently Asked Questions
A non-probate asset is an account or other asset that won’t be governed by the decisions you make in a will. Instead, these accounts commonly have an assigned beneficiary that you choose. Types of non-probate assets include many retirement accounts, life insurance, some bank accounts and some assets (like a house or vehicle) that you jointly own with another person.
The most commonly gifted non-probate asset is an IRA or 401(k). This is because these accounts are always taxed (even for people below the estate tax threshold). Giving these accounts to charity keeps your heirs from having to pay unexpected taxes.
